I now see both net. and fa.sf-lovers around. However, I can't seem to tie articles from the net. group to the fa. digest. Is the gateway broken or was there never really one? Will the real sf-lovers please stand up?

There never was any automatic gateway between net.sf-lovers and fa.sf-lovers. The 'net' group was started during the Interregnum, when the digests weren't flowing forth from Berkeley. Now that they are coming through again, Usenet folks might want to mail their submissions to ucbvax!sf-lovers instead of posting them directly; one can reach a much larger audience that way.

As I recall, net.sf-lovers was created when Berkeley shut down its ARPANET gateway. Some people on the net then started their own group when it seemed like fa.sf-lovers wouldn't be running for a while. Since fa.sf-lovers has been reactivated, maybe net.sf-lovers should vanish. Charles LaBrec

Not so fast to eliminate net.sf-lovers please! Some of us don't get fa.sf-lovers. Roger Wells (...teklabs!tekid!rogerw)

Well, now that we all know what's going on with these two, does anyone besides me want to gateway the two in the same way and net.movies and net.space? I, for one, prefer the undigested, single articles over the complete digest; it makes it much easier to skip things I don't want to see without having to save and then edit the digest to pick out the good parts. Current example: I just thumbed through a 401 line SF Digest to get to the ST II articles at the end. Any comments? Adam
