We wish to implement some kind of message-of-the-day feature in an AppleTalk environment, and would greatly appreciate any suggestions as to the best method. Unless there's a better way, we are planning on an init, which, upon startup, will find and display a message stored on a server. Is there a clean way to do this without logging into the server? Could the init mount the message file remotely? Or would it be better to send the message in some sort of packet? Unfortunately, these Macs are running 6.0.x. Any advice would be greatly appreciated -- we're a little overwhelmed by Inside AppleTalk, so any advice on what protocol level this would be be accom- plished would be appreciated. thanks, -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= BoBo Ready, Willing, & Abelian bowman@reed.{edu,bitnet,uucp} "Frustra fit per plura quod potest fieri per pauciora." - William of Ockham
