Following yesterday's announcement by Apple on their forthcoming new
CD-ROM, I am curious as to what brand/make of CD-ROM drive is best to
purchase. Since many programmers would have one, could I get some
feedback/opinions on preferred CD-ROM drives.
The criteria, I guess, that it must meet are:
* relatively quick (access times under 400 are definitely required)
* will work without problems or unwieldy fixes with MAC //ci and System 7
* is reliable (warranty) and preferrably well known, so that I can get
it in Australia and have it serviced here if required
* either is an Apple CD-ROM or competes well with Apple's drive in
function and performance.
Any help/advice/direction would be most appreciative.
PS. This is my first Internet append; I apologize in advance if it
doesn't work out 100% okay.
