[comp.sys.mac.programmer] Problem found with DrawPicture while playing Async Sounds!

Hi all...

   I've been having sort of a strange problem with a project I'm working on.
   If I play an Async. sound and then immediatly call drawpicture, the sound
   will garble for half a second. This is true whether *I* call drawpicture
   myself or if I let the dialog manager do if for me. What's really weird
   is that this problem shows up on EVERY machine I tried it on, except my
   friend's classic (probably because it's a slower machine) 

   What's even FUNNIER is that the problem is more evident in the BUILT
   application than it does in the debugging mode!

   --- what I've checked

   I've pre-loaded all the resources so disk access is not the issue. 
   (I've also watched the disk light to make SURE no hanky panky was going on)
   I've tried this with NO inits running.
   I've tried adding a few seconds of silence to the beginning of the sound I'm
   playing.
   
  This problem is a REAL headache... ANY help you can provide would be
  GREATLY appreciated...

  --- what I've tried this on...

  First off, the code is written in Think Pascal...
  The sound size I'm trying to play is 77k at 22hz.

  The problem has shown up on the following systems :

  Mac LC 4 MB/ 40 MB		Mac IIFX 5 MB / 175 MB      Mac IISI 4MB/80MB
  System 7			System 7	            System 7
