[net.micro] TRS proposed newsgroup

knudsen@ihnss.UUCP (12/13/83)

Certainly the TRS-80 series deserves its own newsgroup
(or at least their owners do, I mean). However, note that Color COmputer
users are already active on net.micro.6809 (the TRS Coco is the ONLY home
computer/personal computer with a 6809, except fro the new Dragon clone).
I'm concerned that Coco nuts not be confused as to which group to use;
I think Coco hackers should stay in .6809 and read .trs just to get the latest
rumors about Tandy's latest ideas. Any discussion? mike k

If you are going to exclude the coco from net.micro.trs (or whatever),
there doesn't seem to be much point. The TRS systems don't seem to
occupy to much of net.micro or net.micro.cpm. I expect that they won't
be a major burden on net.micro.pc as the 2000 starts selling, either.

Since there is already adaquate space for the trs-80 users, why bother?
Unless there are LOTS of trs-80 users who don't want to go through the
rest of net.micro to find? If you are there, speak up!

I, for one, would like to have a newsgroup for TRS-80 users
in order to discuss TRS software and hardware. For instance,
new programs that come onto the market, or upgrading my
system. Instead of having to clutter up net.micro, these
things can be discussed in a seperate newsgroup.
True, I have not seen much in net.micro, but I think that is
because people don't have enough incentive (sp) to bring things
up.

I'm putting my 2 cents in ...

Yes, by all means let's have another net group for trs80's.
(Not every trs80 owner has a 'hot coco')
