Tiny bugs: in the structure definition in wand_head.h there is no ; at the end of the only declaration in the structure. The Prime C compiler choakes on that. (there is a second function like this somewhere... I just can't remember where) Medium size one: in m.c one needs an extern char *getenv() (ie., at least an old style declaration and better yet a prototype) if one is working on a machine where sizeof(int)!=sizeof(char *). Unknown: ~ (jump level) blows up with a segmentation error after taking the password. I havn't had time to figure out this one. Thankx, Michael

In wanderer2 file save.c line 101, gets can be changed to getstr. On our system one can not see what one is typeing in if gets is used. Mike

Hi, I'm hoping someone out there can help me with the following problems I have been having with the new version of wanderer. The first is that the password function to move between levels does not seem to be implemented. Upon completing a level, it doesn't supply me with the password to skip this level in the future, and using the '~' option doesn't ask for a password doesn't require any passwords either. What am I missing? I didn't really anything about this in the wand_head.h file, but I'll admit I haven't looked much further. My second problem has to do with solving the lower left corner of screen 3: minor spoilers follow: the area in question looks like this: D ::OOO# in the oringinal wanderer, this could be C ::*OOO :: solved by first clearing out B8, B9, C8, and B *::::*O:: C9, then going back around and clearing D1, A ######### D2, C1, C2, C3, finally clearing the B row 123456789 moving from left to right. In the original wanderer, the boulders in row C would fall behind you as you moved across the B row, until you finally pushed out past B6 and B7. In the new version however, now when I pick up the diamond at B6, and push into the space of B7, I am somehow killed by a falling boulder. The screen shows nothing on my "head," and this is the same solution to this section that works in the original version. Can anyone supply me with some clues as to what I am doing wrong or how to fix these problems? btw, kudos to the author. This is a great game. very challenging. -- INTERNET: baron@uuccux.uucc.hawaii.edu | BITNET: baron@uhccux.bitnet | "Make beans into peas!" ICBM: 21 19 N 157 52 W |
