I am looking for any "prior art" in generating a poker game. I am *not* looking for a networked game which allows multiple players to compete, but a program which allows simulation of multiple players against a single human player. Any algorithms, etc, would be useful. The object is to be able to tune each player in the following ways: a) skill - ability to evaluate the value of the cards available and at some future date to learn from past performance the characteristics of the other players b) style - meek thru aggressive, willingness to bluff c) luck - a +/- tweak on the chances of improving a hand Any info on past programs of this type would be useful. I have seen a game which was just a dealer to connect people over a network, but it didn't play. What I want is a way to get in a quick game on my lunch hour, for fun and practice. bill davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.crd.GE.COM) {uunet | philabs}!crdgw1!crdos1!davidsen "Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me
