I have compiled as many options as I can into PC NetHack 3.0 using Turbo C 2.0 and am trying to increase the number of options by linking in an overlay manager LINKOVL.OBJ, which I downloaded from SIMTEL20.arpa. Although I was successful in linking it into the demo/practice files that were included, I have had NO LUCK in linking it into NetHack 3.0. I am now down to trying to get just one object file (zap.obj) as an overlay, rather than the maximum six that the doc says OVL can handle, but I keep getting FIXUP OVERFLOW errors. I have used both LINK 3.05 and 3.51. I have invoked PRONK (included), which is supposed to handle indirect calls to object files by modifying the object modules, etc. etc. etc. Does anyone have any experience in using this program? Is there another P.D. overlay manager that might work instead? HELP! --Jeff Hartung-- Disclaimer: My opinions only, etc., etc., BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!...
