[comp.sources.games.bugs] Galactic Bloodshed novas

    Yes, it's that problem again. I find here, stars seem to enjoy popping
like fire crackers. I've tried adjusting the line that adjusts star's
stability but so far haven't come up with something I like. So far, I have:

        a = int_rand(-5, int_rand(0, int_rand(0, 19)));
(this is in fix_stability in doturn.c)

    This is weird because on average, it is supposed to produce negative
results (ie. become more stable). But there are still an unusual amount of
novas.
    This is not the result of the value dropping below zero in an unsigned int.
This has been fixed.
    Any suggestions from anybody?

    Another thing I didn't like was ice sectors immediatly turning into land.
Shouldn't it change to water?
    If you do this, then water planets will refuse to become land sectors
(the water is supposed to evaporate off). My suggestion, in a nova, have a
1% chance of a water sector turn to land (this will act as a 'seed').
Realistic in my opinion.
    Should we have the evaporated water rain back down after nova?
    To complicated I hear you say, okay then.
