Has anyone done a statistical study of programs written in programming languages such as Modula-2, Pascal or C? What I am particularly interested in is the distribution of typical programming constructs such as two-way switches (if), multi-way switches (case & switch), iterative loops (for), and conditional loops(while, repeat). What I am, in fact, trying to do is to formulate a magic weight (per procedure and module) for a given program based on weights associated with individual statements. All suggestions are gratefully accepted. Please reply by email, and I'll post a summary if there is enough interest. Thanks in advance, Mohammad. -- Mohammad Nejad-Sattary phone: +44 71 589 5111 X 7539 fax: +44 71 581 8024 Department of Computing,Imperial College,180 Queens Gate,London SW7 2BZ, UK Janet: mns@gould.doc.ic.ac.uk UUCP: mns@icdoc.UUCP (or ..!ukc!icdoc!mns) DARPA: mns@gould.doc.ic.ac.uk (or mns%uk.ac.ic.doc@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk)
