   	            Workshop on DEDUCTIVE DATABASES

			in conjunction with
		North American Conference on Logic Programming
			  Oct 29 - Nov 1, 90
			    Austin, Texas

A non-exclusive list of TOPICS:

Query Processing Methods	Rule Optimization, Transformation and Analysis
Deductive DBMS 			Applications
Complexity and Expressibility 	Query Languages
DATALOG Extensions		Negation
Incomplete Information		Complex Objects
Higher-Order Constructs		Non-Standard Query Answers
Constraint Query Languages	Hypothetical Reasoning

Of special interest are papers dealing with novel DEDUCTIVE DATABASE
SYSTEMS and their APPLICATIONS.

The workshop will have an informal character, with time for
presentations, questions, and panel discussions. The workshop is
initially planned for HALF DAY, but might be extended if the interest
is high enough. The workshop will be held in the afternoon of
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 01, **OR** on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 02. Five other NACLP
workshops will also be held during that period of time. The exact time
of the workshop will be announced together with its program in early
October.

SUBMISSIONS: submit 5 copies of an EXTENDED ABSTRACT (max. 8 double
spaced pages) by AUGUST 31, 1990. Please include your e-mail address
with the submission.  Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection
by SEPTEMBER 30, 1990.

Submissions, panel proposals and all correspondence should be directed
to the above address. Also, all potential participants are asked to
send e-mail to the organizer as soon as possible. Attendance at the
workshop is open to all NACLP '90 registrants but subject to space
constraints.  There may be an additional workshop registration fee,
payable together with the conference fee.
