Stanford University Department of Computer Science invites applications
for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professorship in
computer science.  Suggested areas of interest include, but are not
limited to: Artificial Intelligence, including advanced applications,
formal reasoning, knowledge bases, machine learning, planning, natural
language processing, and robotics; Numerical Analysis and Scientific
Computing; Computer Systems, including architecture, database systems,
networks, operating systems, parallel computing, programming languages,
and software engineering; and Theory, including algorithms,
applications of logic, combinatorics, complexity theory, computational
geometry, and the theories of database systems, programming languages,
and parallel and distributed computing.

Selection will be based primarily on research and teaching excellence
in a field of research rather than on the field itself.
