These are tenure-track positions in a Department of 30 plus academic and 20 support staff with highpowered workstations and file servers, MIPS minicomputers, X-Windows and ACSII terminals and personal computers plus several specialised laboratories for teaching and research. We have strong interests in research and teaching, and links with the Information Technology industry. Lecturing staff may undertake approved consulting work. Academic salaries currently attract market loadings. Current major research areas are: Artificial intelligence, networks, distributed algorithms and many aspects of the theory of computer science. Applicants from any area of Computer Science are invited, but those with teaching interests in Software Engineering, Operating Systems and Computer Graphics would be particu- larly welcome.
