AICS'91 Call for Papers AICS'91
4th Irish Conference

Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science
19 - 20 September 1991

AIMS
The aims of the conference are to promote AI research in Ireland, to provide
a forum for the exchange of ideas amongst the different disciplines concerned
with the study of Cognition, and to provide an opportunity for industry to see
what research is being carried out in Ireland and how it might benefit from
the results of this research. Speakers from abroad are invited to submit
papers and it is expected that some stipends will be available to support the
attendance of guest speakers.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
Papers are invited on substantial, original and unpublished research on all
aspects of artificial intelligence and cognitive science, including, but not
limited to:
Image Processing Human-Computer Interaction
Learning Natural Language
Knowledge Representation Robotics
Speech User Modelling
Application and Theory of Expert Systems Decision Support and
Strategic Planning
FORMAT FOR SUBMISSION
Authors should submit three copies of a preliminary version of their papers,
not to exceed 5000 words. The first page should include the title, the
name(s) of the author(s), complete addresses, and a short (5 line) summary.
Submissions should be made to the Conference Chair, as given below.
SCHEDULE
Papers Due: 15 April, 1991.
Notification of Acceptance: 31 May, 1991.
Camera-Ready Copy Due: to be arranged.
PUBLICATION OF PROCEEDINGS
It is expected that the proceedings of the conference will be published in
book form. The proceedings of AICS'89 and AICS90 are being published in the
British Computer Society Workshop Series with Springer Verlag, and it is
hoped to negotiate a similar agreement for AICS'91.
CONFERENCE INFORMATION
Accommodation can be arranged on or near the campus for the duration of the
conference. Meals will be available. Further information and registration
