Just a mild observation here. I had heard that Apple would be running a commercial during the Super Bowl, with a great possibility that the MacIntosh would be announced. Well, I wasn't really interested in sitting through the game so I video taped it. Alas, during the third quarter was the commercial! But, nothing other that the anouncement that "on January 24 Apple will introduce the Apple MacIntosh". At least, now, that's official. I guess the name of it will be the "MacIntosh", and I thought maybe the name might have been Apple 32. I'm glad it's not, since that could be read to say "Apple three II" which I like even less than Apple (pu) twoey. I tried to stop frame the girl, in the commercial, to see just what exactly was on the front of her T-shirt; and while I'm not positive, it may have been the rough outline of the "Mac" with a keyboard beneath and the Apple logo to the bottom left. I wonder if they're going to be giving those away sometime in the future? Chuck

Besides a nice guy like you shouldn't have any trouble picking up a girl.

Yes, there will be Mac T-shirts available to the select few, according to a piece in the Wall Street Journal today (or maybe it was the New York Times). No sledgehammers, though. Mike

Knowing Apple, they won't be giving them away, but selling them. And cups, and visors, and stickers, and ... -- eric ...!seismo!umcp-cs!aplvax!eric

From: Michael Rubin <RUBIN@COLUMBIA-20.ARPA> I'm not too interested in the T-shirt, but I WANT the sledgehammer -- to use on whoever designed the keyboard and whoever left out the expansion slots! -------

#R:sri-arpa:-1588200:uicsl:7000046:000:598 uicsl!keller Jan 27 15:51:00 1984 I want a tape of that ad! Blew me away! I prefer VHS but if can only get Beta won't complain. Dollars under the table? I just came back from the local Byte Shop where I auditioned Big (little?) Mac. While there I saw a video tape that Apple prepared for its dealers. The ad is on that tape. Maybe Apple would sell that tape? I'll reserve my review of the Macintosh, but I think it's a big winner. Apple must think so too since the salesman told me that Apple is producing one every 27 seconds. That's about 1055 per 8 hour shift, 29500 per month, 355000 per year. -Shaun ...uiucdcs!uicsl!keller
