Announcement: Genome Day at DIMACS, April 18

DIMACS and the Waksman Institute of Microbiology at Rutgers are
pleased to announce a full day Workshop on Computational Biology, with
an emphasis on the problems of mathematics and computer science which
arise in the human genome project and on the biology background for
understanding this project. The Workshop will be held on April 18 at
the DIMACS Building on the Rutgers University Campus in New Brunswick,
New Jersey.

We will have lectures by two leading experts in the field, Dr. Eric
Lander and Dr. Michael Waterman.

Dr. Lander will give three lectures, an introductory talk called
"The Secret of Life" and two additional talks on Physical Mapping and
Genetic Mapping. Dr. Waterman will give two talks, on Algorithms for
Sequence Comparison and Probability for Sequence Comparison.

Lunch will be served.

All those interested in attending should let us know so that we can
plan for the lunch. Please send a message with your intention to
attend to Patricia Toci (toci@dimacs.rutgers.edu).
