I am concerned about the current discussions about late delivery of the January 1984 issue of BYTE. Let me recap: the initial submissions were short, informative - I found them useful because my BYTE was also late and I discovered I was not alone, thus action was called for (call BYTE to have a second copy sent) - and I think they were compatible with the spirit of this network. Now this subject is becoming vindictive - long submissions which are unedited and unabridged copies of earlier submissions, submissions saying enough is enough, submissions (in jest, I presume) about other magazines being a day or a week late. It seems to me that this network is fragile, and excessive junk mailings will break it because of the cost of phone calls to transmit those mailings and because the effort to retrieve useful information from a news group will exceed to benifit of scanning that newsgroup. PLEASE, respect the etiquette of this network; let us continue to share useful information informally; let us continue to seek help from one another; let topics die by themselves because the information has been gleened, not because negative information has swamped the net.
