Change of location of the SUNDAY WELCOME RECEPTION

The welcome reception on July 14, from 19:00 to 22:00, will not be held
at the Waterloo cafe, but nextdoors, in the lobby ('foyer') of the Opera-
house. Use the main entrance of the Opera, located at the western side of
the Opera and City Hall Complex, facing the Amstel river.
Since this entrance is only 50 meters to the right from the Waterloo,
the instructions given in earlier announcements on how to get to the
welcome reception remain valid.
Note on names: the official Dutch name of the Opera-house, sometimes
found on maps, is 'Muziektheater'. The widely used nickname of the whole
complex is 'Stopera'.
The Stopera is the most prestigious recent building in the city,
controversial for its size and its architecture. The foyer is behind
a circular marble facade, with a magnificent view on the Amstel river,
from the Munt Tower down to the South.
At the welcome reception snacks, drinks and coffee will be served,
and a registration desk will be open.
