My brother just bought an YAMAHA HE-8 organ. It has a full MIDI implementation which is quite reasonable documented. All system exclusive messages are listed. The HE-8 is capable of loading user-defined voices (FM 4 operator) into user memory areas. Unfortunately this format is NOT documented and it isn't compatible with either the DX11 or DX27 format we know. So we can't load all those DX sounds we have. Besides these voices it is also possible to load user drum patterns and complete registrations via MIDI. Now my question, does anybody out there know the format of the voice, drum or registration data, or can give a hint where to find it ? If so, please e-mail me.
