[net.micro] Commodore joystick

The problem arises even if the program does not try to read the keyboard.
I noticed that moving the joystick to the left causes BASIC to slow
down by a factor of 5. Apparently the corresponding character is a
self repeating character, which bogs down the system.

I don't think moving to the other port is a good solution. When the
keyboard scanner turns the iochip around to output the scan info,
moving the joystick will short some of these outputs to ground, which
doesn't sound too healthy.

Any suggestions?
