[comp.music] MIDI guitar interface

I'm looking for a cheapish beginners kit for interfacing my guitar
to my ibm. Any suggestions?

And more specifcally one of the things i'd like to do is have my
guitar synthesize other instruments.

Me too.  I have a Mac Plus and am about to build a MIDI interface for it.
I would like to build an interface for my bass as well.
