Where can one get a copy of the package csound, describe in the January 1990 issue of Electronic musician? -- Jeremy Nussbaum jeremy@jeremy.prime.com, ...!harvard!prmcad!jeremy Prime Computer 2 Crosby Drive MS 16-2 Bedford, Ma. 01730 (617)275-1800 x6745

This is also a question about csound availability: our electronic music studio recently acquired a NeXT, and I have heard numerous rumors that csound has been modified to run under the NeXT's Mach UNIX using the NeXT soundkit. Unfortunately, I heard these rumors almost three months ago before (?) the release of NeXT's 2.0 OS release...and I have never seen the sources where I would expect to find them (winnie.princeton.edu -- but thanks for CMIX!). Can anyone give me leads? An anonymous FTP site would be preferable, but I'm willing to work anything out! Thanx -- and MURRY CHRUSTMUS! Csound is available by anonymous ftp from uvaarpa.acc.virginia.edu. I've installed it on my NeXT and the interface is nifty. There is also an expanded sound editor available on the same archive which adds a lot of features to the standard sound editor that comes with the NeXT. Have fun. smb@datran2.uunet.uu.net
