[net.micro] C86 vs. Aztec C

davidk@dartvax.UUCP (David C. Kovar) (02/04/84)

I am currently looking around for a good C compiler for my
IBM XT. I seem to have narrowed it down to C86 and Aztec C. I was
to get C86 without question until I noticed that many people praise
Aztec C and that it is $250 (1/2 the cost) less than C86. Can
anyone give me any first hand comments on these compiler? I'm
interested in the usual speed of compilation, efficiency of object
code, large memory models, etc, plus I want to be able to get at
PC DOS from C with out too much hassle. Thanks, in advance, for
the information.
