This is an old topic but I couldn't let this one pass. Muzak is a threat to culture in what way? The same way that wallpaper is a threat to the art of still-life painting. For what it's worth, I've come to love Muzak. It says more about our culture than 100yds of "difficult" music. It is interesting to note that Ted Nugent (heavy rock guitarist) tried to buy out Muzak many years ago, for the purpose of shutting it down. His reason for doing so was [sic] "It's an evil influence on our culture, causing people to lapse into fits of lethargy!" Personally, I thought it was a good statement. Needless to say, his offer was refused. -- /// Alex Matulich /// Unicorn Research Corp, 4621 N Landmark Dr, Orlando, FL 32817 \\\/// alex@bilver.UUCP ...uunet!tarpit!bilver!alex \XX/ From BitNet try: IN%"bilver!alex@uunet.uu.net"
