I had heard that the problem at National Semiconductor is: the original design for the 16032 was done by outside people hired for that project alone. The MMU and FPU are being done by in-house people and are apparently not yet shipping due to continuing problems(?) National does not appear to have any good designers in-house. This does not bode well for the entire product line. Motorola, although w/o an advanced software theology, is able to produce advanced chip designs with their own people. (ron) -------
