Correction: Does anyone know a public domain source, i.e.via FTP, of Midi digital music files for the Mac? -- Or mail to: Garry Elliott, gwe@aplvax.jhuapl.edu [128.244.176.104] in Maryland

Noting the above discussion about contaminating comp.music when postings
are not of academic value, I WILL PROCEED TO CONTAMINATE THIS NEWS GROUP
WITH A TECHNICAL QUESTION ABOUT MIDI FILES.
I just bought TRAX, an excellent low-priced sequencer for the MAC,
which is capable of importing gerneric MIDI files. All I can find on several
bulleton boards, however, are files for Concertware + Midi and Sound Studio,
non of which are generic MIDI files and non of which I can read with TRAX.
What's a body to do? Is there a yet undiscovered motherload of generic
MIDI files? Is there a utility that can convert these files to generic
MIDI? Is there a common file format by which MIDI users can and do exchange
their workmanship?

Thanks,
Garry Elliott
