[comp.music] Csound

rahardj@ccu.umanitoba.ca (Budi Rahardjo) (11/10/89)

Would someone be kind enough to send me a copy of CSound ?
CSound is available at MIT via ftp. Unfortunately we don't have
access to ftp here. Oh well,

Budi

Where *do* you ftp csound from?

There's a version on ems.media.mit.edu, but it seems to be missing a bunch
of files.

Ah, that may explain some of the trouble I am having. Also the version I
downloaded I assume is not the most recent version as it is dated Sep 1988.
As I said in my earlier posting, it does compile and run, but I am confused
about various aspects of it. I guess I will actually have to sit down and
read the source code.

I hope to start coding my "packet fractal" program later this week (other
time wasters permitting). I would be willing to share this with anyone
who would answer the occasional email question.

What platform will you operate csound from? What do you have for documentation?

What will you be able to do with it? DSP output planned?

I am in the early thinking stages of a project like that (not fractal) which
would require getting the library (I assume there is quite a library) to
work on my AT/Clone, or Atari Mega. That is why I'm asking questions.

thanks
