[net.micro] Apple University Consortium

Chris@USC-ECLB.ARPA (02/07/84)

From: Christopher Ho <Chris@USC-ECLB.ARPA>

I don't think that Apple is necessarily limiting themselves to ONLY the
20 or so Universities that have been mentioned here and there. USC is going to
be treated to a visit by Apple in one week, and I will have more news then, but
my impression is that any academic institution able to satisfy certain condi-
tions can join the 'Consortium.' These conditions include something like guar-
anteed sales of 1000 machines within 2 (or 3) years, and apparently some kind
of software development in return. More details next week...

So one has to program for your dinner. Hmm. I wonder when people
will learn that if they just let people have things at Universities
that it pays off. The only people I know that have that right
seems to be Intel
