Does anyone have any information about a file format ( or sound encoding
technique ) called CVSD ?
CVSD is an antiquated sound format that stores sampled sounds as a bitstream
, where each bit represents an increment/decrement on the preceding value.
It also does some strange things in order to handle rapidly changing
signals.
I have a CVSD sound sampler on a PC, but I need a much more sophisticated
editing program , hence, I need a conversion program, or some specification on
the CVSD format.
ANY information will be appreciated !
Thanks in advance.

CVSD stands for Continuously Variable Slope Data. It stores the difference betfeen each sample, and was an encoding technique used in communications and telephony some time ago. There should be some articles in old issues of IEEE Engineering or the AES Journal, RMIT has back issues. If I see anything on CVSD in my own papers I'll let you know. Paul.
