[net.micro] TI99er Info Wanted

wetcw@pyuxa.UUCP (02/07/84)

Now, since there must be at least 2 million TI99s out there, it
follows that there must be some netters who own one. Therefore,
the following is for those other TI99ers.

99er Magazine - Has anyone heard anything from them since December?
Rumor #1 - They went bankrupt.
Rumor #2 - They are in the midst of changing formats ( to add IBM
or some other machine to their Magazine).
What has anyone else heard? I sent 25 bucks in for a subscription
last December. A call last month brought the response that the next
issue would be out in February.

Adventure Games - I will, perhaps have "Return to Pirate Island"
available soon. At least as soon as the 13 year old finds all the
treasures. Would anyone be interested in buying ( at a reasonable
cost) this cartridge. You don't need anything else for this one.
And, it is a damned good adventure. Its not for beginners. Let
me know if anyone would want to trade, buy, sell, exchange, or
anything else, TI tapes, cartridges, etc. I am especially interested
in educational software and have some that could be useful to
others.

Books - Does anyone have a line on some good TI software books?

Finally, is anyone looking to get rid of their TI99? I might be
interested if the price is right. Perphis too.

The 99'er magazine plans on putting out their new format the middle of
February. They will be called "Home Computer Magazine" and will cover
the IBM PC, Commodore, and Apple in addition to the 99/4A. This COMPUTE!
type format is very disappointing to me. As a former subscriber I can
only say that the magazine always lacked a professional touch. A subscription
to COMPUTE! may now be a better value.
