I am interested in computer music & MIDI. I have occasionally seen articles about Csound software in this newsgroup. If anyone can answer any of the following questions, I would be grateful. (Sorry I lost the recent article on Csound.) * Who makes Csound? * What kind of computer can use Csound? * What software functions does Csound provide? (MIDI sensor or digital sampler, etc...) * If this software is public domain, I would like to know the anonymous FTP site address. Thanks! HIROKI MORI

1. Csound was written by Barry Vercoe at MIT. 2. It can run on Macintoshes and some unix based machines. 3. In one line - it's a digital audio processing and sound synthesis environm. 4. It is public domain and can be ftp'ed from cecelia.media.mit.edu as pub/csound.tar.Z (750537 bytes).
