1. Locals ads for the Mac have the statement "Macintosh is a trademark licensed to Apple Computer" in fine print. Who is licensing it to Apple? 2. The Mac ref. manual has an all-too-brief description of a "programmer's switch" that one can install on the machine. It appears to aid one in developing software on the Mac. What does this switch control? I heartily agree with uiucdcs!seaburg who replied to the "what's the big deal about the Mac" comments. The big deal is that it will open up new markets, as the Apple II did. Not because of a company name (ref. IBM) but because of product improvements that make the capabilities of the machine accessible to many more people. I think, for once, the good guys have a chance to win. peter rowley, U.
