A couple of weeks back, I asked for some info on interfacing a midi keyboard to a PC. Several of you emailed me some info that I thought I'd pass on, along with a couple of questions. The most productive comment was a reminder that PC magazine, in their November 13th issue reviewed four software/hardware add-ons for the PC. The most productive seemed to be "Ballade", a software package by Dynaware ($195 retail, 415-349-5700). This is a package that is designed to work with the Roland MT-32 Midi module, CM-32L sound module and the LAPC-I sound card. Ballade is a" low-cost 10-track music sequencer and sound editor/librarian program that uses striking color graphics to exploit the capabilities of these synthesizers." Other programs listed were: Master Tracks Pro for MS Windows, PC Music Maker (a combination hardware software package), and MIDI Records. None of the items were advertised in the magazine, nor did I see them listed in the software vendors' listings. One of the other responses suggested looking at the ads in Keyboard magazine (which I haven't seen yet.) Also mentioned at the end of the article were the sequencer programs, Cakewalk by Twelve Tone Systems, and Sequencer Plus Mark I by Voyetra. If any of you are using any of the above and have something good or bad to say about them, I'd appreciate hearing it. Thanks. ______________________________________________________________________________ Mike Ungerman |Proline:mikeu@pro-magic Pro-Magic BBS: 407-366-0156 |uucp:crash!pnet01!pro-magic!mikeu 300/1200/2400/9600 Baud 24hrs |arpa:crash!pnet01!pro-magic!mikeu@nosc.mil Apple Tree of Central Florida, Inc |Internet:mikeu@pro-magic.cts.com Orlando, Florida|Voice:407-366-0060|Compuserve:71326,31 Prodigy: JSNP58A
