[comp.music] SCORE

I am having one hell of a time trying to find SCORE here
in Seattle... one store has an old version.. but they
don't have any machines for me to see it running on!

Anybody know a good mail order house that carries SCORE?
Estimated price?
Does it run on a 486? and midi hardware timing problems
on a 486?

I hear WINDOWS 3.0 is rather slow... does this make using an
intensively graphic oriented set of programs: SCORE, PAGEMAKER etc
in a multi-tasking environment ridiculously frustrating?

Also.. does someone know how far along the port of SCORE to NeXT is?
Seems like this would be ultimate: Poscript Score- Poscript Display..
Supposedly the NeXTstation 040 is plenty fast on the screen.

You might as well contact Passport directly with all your
questions.

Frankly, I can't see any good reason for running SCORE under
Windows, because the 'think vs do' ratio doesn't leave much room
for going off to do something else anyway, except in the
pagination and printing processes, which you might want to watch
while drinking coffee to see if a operator error crops up that
halts the process. And I'm running it (v. 3.0) on a 286. I can
imagine that it really screams on a 486.
