[comp.music] DX-7 Emulator for the Amiga?

Yes a DX-7 Emulator does exist for the amiga, it suports all 32 algorithms
and can create all of the sounds that made the DX so popular.

The program is called EZ FM Synthesizer and is distributed by
The Other Guys Software. The program creates 8 or 16 bit sample files
so you can use the sounds with existing Amiga music program, soon to be
released 16 bit sampling boards, or use the sounds with your sampling
keyboard. You can now create harmonicly rich sounds for your keyboard
without having to buy expensive hardware.

EZ FM also creates multi octave sample in both 8SVX and Audio IFF sample formats and even has a waveform examiner/animator. It emulates most of the parameters used on the DX-7 except for the velocity parameters, but EZ FM allows you to use waveforms other than sine waves during waveform calculations.

All of this is controled by a next-like mouse driven interface which makes it easy to use.

The program is available directly from The Other Guys Software at
1-800-942-9402 for about $60.00 or it is available at certain software stores.

Yea, verily, it's an interesting program -
I bought a copy at a Boxing Day sale and am
quite impressed! *Much* cheaper than a DX-7,
and a much nicer user interface!

I ran it multitasking with Sonix and the
MindLight on an A1000 with exciting results...

Note that sample calculation time is enhanced
by a faster cpu, so trying out changes is more
	satisfying on a 68020 or 68030 box.

	Nice work, Other Guys...
