[comp.music] SoundBlaster/ MT-32 or equalent Roland equipment

pstene@Lise.Unit.NO (Petter Stene) (01/15/91)

I would like to get information how how good those two sound modules are.
What I want from a module is GOOD and realistic sound effects, with reverb
is possible. Reverb does a lot to a sound...
I have considered a MT-32, but the price scares me a bit... It the Sound-
Blaster can produce as good sounds as the MT-32 can, the choice is clear...
But I need to hear YOUR experiece with the two modules...

I've had the SoundBlaster for quite some time (Got a good deal when they
first came out, for $140). Anyway, it itself puts out an extremely
decent sound (for an IBM), and the sampling it does is nice, too. The
only problem is that the sampling the board comes with sucks. It lets
you make, load, and save samples, but not edit...
as for the MIDI adapter? well, I'm trying to find out that info myself..
