They're about the same price (roughly $90 at >DMCS >) Can't write MIDI files to transfer data to another program. (There's a > companion sequencer that will read and write DMCS files, and the sequencer > will read and write MIDI files.) Several pro sequencing packages will read and write DMCS files directly. I am currently using Opcode's Vision sequencer and it provides direct export to DMCS and Pro Composer (by Mark of The Unicorn.) Yes it works, as I have used it in the past. My partner is now doing everything in Pro Composer, which wasn't mentioned. It has direct Performer support, indirect Opcode support (through export/import) MIDI file import and export, and it basically combines DMCS and CW. It came out after DMCS, and I think it has learned from the DMCS mistakes. I can't really get into specifics, as my partner does all transcription. On the new Notation program front - in the Mac world, Opcode Systems was rumored product line - Vision for Sequencing, Galaxy for Universal Patch Librarian, and it's many excellent Editor/Librarians. You can create soft links in Vision to a that the notation package would function similarly - ie make a change in the sequence and the score is updated, and vice versa. Hope this helps!
