From: rej (Ralph Johnson) To: net-micro Subject: Apple University Consortium Someone asked for information about the Apple University Consortium and the deals they were giving for Macs and Lisas. The following information is taken from "nibbles", the newsletter of the Cornell Decentralized Computer Services. The members of the Consortium include Boston College, Brigham Young Univ., Brown, C.M.U., City U. of N.Y., Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, Harvard, Northwestern, Princeton, Reed, Rice, Stanford, U. of Chicago, U. of Michagan, Notre Dame, U. of Penn., U. of Rochester, U. of Texas at Austin, U. of Utah, U. of Washington, and Yale. Quite a group. Prices to Cornell students, faculty, and most staff are $1125 for a Mac and $3575 for a Lisa 2/10. No prices have been given for software and other necessary items. "In our opinion, the Mac will become one of the premier computing machines for student instruction in computing. It combines a powerful CPU and graphics at a very low price."
