[nice list deleted]

I just resubscribed to this group after a long absence, and did not see the
plea. I thought some people might be interested in a sound editing and
processing system I have been working on for several years. It is a graphics-
based program that is built on top of the X Window System. It runs on almost
any Unix system, and can play soundfiles on NeXT workstations and (very soon)
SPARCstations. It includes filters, cutting, mixing, pasting, enveloping,
analysis, etc. It is free. It can read 8, 16, and 32 bit soundfiles produced
by software such as Csound and Cmix, as well as NeXT soundfiles.

If you are interested, *and* you can run X applications, and you have a NeXT
or a SPARC (or dont mind not being able to hear your results immediately),
send me mail and I will send you a mailer with more information. One note-
this program does not do synthesis or music notation or anything like that.

If the address in my .signature below doesnt work (it doesnt from some
machines), reach me at the Reply-To or doug@woof.columbia.edu.
