Could anyone make some suggestions of some music/synth/sampling software (ftp'able or not...) for the casual beginner with an ibm and a soundblaster? Do I really have to order Creative Music Lab's software if I want to patch together my own instruments and sounds, modify sound samples, or do anything worthwhile at all, or are there similar programs out there?
