[comp.music] Mechanics of D50-keyboards

felix@incom.incom.de (Felix Gaehtgens) (03/26/91)

hi!

i've just found out that my D50 (about 3 years old) has a minor flaw with
the middle B key. it sounds pretty loud when you press it (all other keys
sound much softer when you press them with the same velocity). Probably
the mechanics (pressure sensitivity) of this key is defect. my question is
if anybody has experience in (repairing) a D50-keyboard (or, in my case,
just this one key). is it easy to do? i haven't opened my d50 yet but am
thinking of doing so.
in case anybody knows what spare parts one needs to fix the pressure sensi-
tivity of one key and whether it is easy to do by oneself, please post (or
email me). if it really is not that hard to do i guess that one could save
the money it would cost to let it be repaired by an authorized dealer (here
in germany, it's usually pretty expensive!).

oh, by the way, i'm still very satisfied with the keyboard itself, that it
did withstand three years of my heavy hacking. and it's still working -
except that one key ;-)

so long & thanx,
		felix
