If you read Mac magazines, you'll find that What's Hot For Music Now is this Audiomedia/DECK/MacProteus shtick. Great, but what about us poor Joes and Janes who can't afford a Mac II, and would just like to putter around with Studio Session ? What happens if we'd like to try sound synthesis but can't manage to buy/install a synthesizer-on-a-card? I've been working on a program that incorporates several sound-generation algorithms. Most notably so far, it performs FM synthesis with the standard doodads (amplitude envelopes, alternate wave tables). Its main purpose is to produce instrument files for Studio Session, but it wouldn't be any harder to create snd resources, or Hypercard instru- ments. My question for the Net would be: is anybody out there interested in such a beast? And if you are, what do you think it's worth? Have I managed not to notice a cheap commercial product that does I all I want and more? Anybody out there doing the same thing? Thanks, Yves Meynard
