I'm sure this is a FAQ, but I haven't seen any information about an FAQ list for this newsgroup. What do people recommend for writing sheet music on a Mac? I'm having a hard time finding something which works well for me. Much of what I write is choral music, so it needs to handle lyrics well and manage at least 3 independent voices written on one staff. I also write lead sheets, for which I'd like to find something that can adjust the width of the note/lyric combinations to lay out the same number of measures on each line, or at least allow me to specify how much variance in width is allowable from measure to measure. (Many players, myself included, have a hard time sight-reading a lead sheet with wide variations in the widths of the measures.) Ideally it would understand how to transpose alphabetic chord symbols along with the notes. I prefer to enter and play back the notes using my MIDI keyboard. The programs I've seen so far pick up the notes just fine, but don't handle rhythms well. The program I've liked best overall has a bad case of this problem--for a bar which contains a dotted half followed by an eighth tied to a half, it *consistently* puts the half note first! Thanks in advance, -- Rich
