Lecture: 4PM Thursday May 2 "Trends Toward Integration in Computer Music" Concert: 8PM Friday May 3 Risset: Songes (1979) Duo for One Pianist ('89) Dialogues ('75) Attracteurs Etranges ('88) Sud ('85) Both Events at SIBLEY AUDITORIUM, Bechtel Engineering Center, UC Berkeley Campus (near Hearst and Euclid entrance) J-C Risset is a renowned French composer who worked with Max Mathews at Bell Labs developing computer music from '65-69. He published his now famous catalog of computer music sounds in 1969, and established computer music systems at Orsay (70-71) and the Univ. of Marseille-Luminy ('74). At IRCAM (Paris) he was head of the Computer Department (75-79). He has won numerous awards including the Grand Prix National de la Musique in 1990. His works are recorded on Wergo, Ina, and Neuma.
