Please help me! I desperately need help on what to buy: * two keyboards: - one great sampler (I was looking at the EPS 16+) what do you think? - one great synth. I'm good at programming, so big thick manuals don't scare me. Key features sought are hi pass and lo pass filters, at least two envelope generators (more is better) which are flexible as to how they can be routed. Other options which would be nice but _are_not_ neccesary: split keyboard capability an arpeggiator PCM cards a joy stick controller built in effects processor - a mass media storage device: any durable hard drive resistant to vibration or mechanical shock from traveling on the road. (Any other alternate storage devices around?) I'm loading in mega-samples of data so it must be reliable, fast, and have lots of memory. - a brain to run it all: Computer, sequencer, or midi foot control device? If my band does, say, 99 different songs, I want to hit two buttons (01 to 99) for each song and BANG! everything is loaded: Upper and lower keyboard presets, key transposition (if needed), midi sys-ex data, sample bulk dumps, sequence data.... the whole works...(you get the picture) Minimum button pushing is the main goal here. - If I do have to use a computer to do this, what kind of software would be this powerful? I was looking at Dr. T's X-or package. It sounds like it could handle it. I've never used it before though. Any advice is greatly appreciated on this folks. It's the most important link in the chain ***** Even if you only know a little about one of the items I've mentioned, PLEASE PLEASE post your advice. I would be _MOST_ greatful for any one who offers to include their ideas on this subject and I'm sure many other netters out there would agree. THANK YOU for taking the time to do so! -Mark (mlyons@remus.rutgers.edu)
