[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.domains] Domains created...

unc.edu is already taken by the University of North Carolina. But I
agree - univnorthco.edu is pretty awkward.

Perhaps "UNCo" then. Oh, well. Too late.

	    	    UWW.EDU University of Wisconsin

I thought "UWisc.EDU" was the University of Wisconsin.

	I think it's wisc.edu, and I'd bet that's only the Madison campus.

Yes, you're right. It is "Wisc.Edu". They should have had
subdomains, like "Madison" (or Mad) and "Whitewater" or (white),
rather than clutter up the place. Sort of like the UC mess,
Berkeley.Edu instead of Berkeley.UC.Edu, etc.

The University of Quebec at Montreal (UQaM.Ca) recently decided to
get under the University of Quebec umbrella. I think they are using
CNAMEs to support the transition. Good for them.

I agree that universities should be autonomous (with respect to
local planning), but not uncoordinated (if that makes sense to
anyone else but me).

Well, I've just opened myself to flames. Enough for now.
