[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.domains] mail and TCP/IP

sfrazier@vlink01.UUCP (8780) (01/02/91)

I am new to the TCP/IP world. I am trying to set up mail between two
machines on TCP/IP via SCO's mmdf. I feel I have the fine documentation
provided by SCO's Chris Durham (thanks much, Chris, excellent work), but I
have just one other question. When you set up an account for uucp, you
must do just that set up an account and password for that account for uucp, but
*do you* have to do that same for TCP/IP or it is handled some other way?

In other words, if I set up everthing to work on mmdf, do I have to actually
set up an account for 192.000.000.1 or whatever for them to pass mail to me?
I need a little help in understanding that part of it. If someone would please
respond via email to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.
