[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.domains] MX records for different levels

todd@gdfwc3.UUCP (Todd Shutts) (05/22/91)

We currently have the domain gd.com. This domain is pointed
to by an MX record from San Diego State.

What we would like to do is to create a level for Fort Worth,
fw.gd.com, which would have an MX record pointing to it from a
different site.

                                           |
                                           | traffic
                                           |
    traffic fw.gd.com V
       -----------> SDS ----------------> SITE A -------> to fw.gd.com
                     |
	             | via MX record
                     |
                     V
                 gdwest.gd.com

	A) Is this possible, or do have to funnel mail through
	   one site?

	B) If it is possible, would this be affected when when
gdwest.gd.com is connected to the "internet."

Any comments, help, or direction would be greatly appreciated.

	many thanks,

	-todd
