I have a Zenith SuperSport 286. Whenever I use a disk check utility
such as DOS CHKDSK or Mace or Norton, or if I compare two files,
I get random characters all over the screen. The machine seems
also incredibly sensitive to static, much more so than my cheap
clones, and static way on the other side of the room which I can't
even feel. I don't know how it could be used as a portable computer,
it lives on my desk. Zenith tells me neither of these problems should
occur. The local authorized dealer "taped the video wires" and actually
the problem got better for a while, but is back. Again, I'm hardly
ever moving the laptop, so I don't think changes are due to the
wires juggling around or anything. Any tips? Thanks.
