Earlier, I inquired to the general Zenith-using public about the mysterious Ctrl-Alt-F function, and got many responses, none of which seem to match my Z-248 results. Hitting Ctrl-Alt-F (oh, I'm on a color VGA, for what it's worth) blanks the lower half of the screen, condenses all the writing to the upper half, and slices off the lower half of each character. All I could get Ctrl-Alt-N and Ctrl-Alt-I to do to my mutilated display was move the entire display vertically for a matter of pixels. Yes, rebooting does fix everything. To make matters worse, I did some more experimenting with Ctrl-Alt combos and found that the number keys (on the top of the key- board, I didn't try the keypad) also do nasty things. Good luck in explaining these! Why aren't these things ever in the manual? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Neal Miller | "Why not go mad?" | millernw@clutx.clarkson.edu Clarkson University | - Ford Prefect | millernw@clutx.bitnet ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
